I bet you thought I was talking about cycling! Nope, it's time to get ready for another run at the PINEWOOD DERBY!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh YEA!! Time to build two more cars for the boys. This year they designed their own cars and now it's time for me to do a little woodworking.
Start with little blocks of wood and a design......
Go at it with the saw and a belt sander and this is what you have. So far I'm only sporting one bandage!
Next up, getting them up to weight!
Don't forget about Cross Worlds this weekend!
Go Chris!

THe old Pine Wood Derby. My dad & I made those when I was a kid. Good times. I even managed to win a few races with dad's secret weapon, graphite to lube the wheel axle.
I'll have to take a picture of our collection of cars. I think these two gives us a total of 7 cars. 3 for each kid and 1 that I made as a scout that my dad kept for me. Graphite definitely works!
So does taking a dremmel tool and cutting the wheels down to about 1/3rd the original width! Love my dad...turns out there were "rules" against this though...oops
To hell with the rules! Cheaters never win and winners never get caught!
